Trading Operations Specialist

This newly created and dynamic role will work closely with our trading business unit managers and report directly to the CEO, providing operational and administrative support to our trading teams.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the management of our trading Business Units (BU): 

• project management of the trading BU plans
• setting and reporting on BU targets, KPIs, performance, and priorities
• regular trading BU management reports on market risk and P&L
• management of operational updates
• provide active oversight of market risk
• BU administration

Assist trading BU Managers with:

• regular trading BU and strategy reports
• operational risk reports
• first point of contact for resolving trader queries and issues (e.g. reconciliation breaks)
• planning and operational actions of the trading BU plans, including assisting in setting up new trading strategies and desks
• identifying and helping to enact solutions to BU tasks
• administration of trading BU Jira tickets, meetings, CPD and R&D
• ensuring processes are continuously improving, effective and documented
• developing new processes 
• managing some external relationships
• BU administration

Other Duties

• Follow and apply the company values and adhere to company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Reporting to the CEO

Essential Requirements: 

• Must have at least 3 years working as or with traders
• Excellent administrative skills
• Highly organised with solid time management
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
• Full working rights in Australia

Preferable Requirements: 

• Understanding of trading strategies
• Project management experience
• Understanding of market risk in a trading environment 
• Good Python skills
• Knowledge of data management
• Experience working in a small team
• Experience using Confluence & Jira

This role will be based in our head office in Manly with a plan to move to the Sydney CBD in 2025.
