Job Description - Trainer and Assessor Role based in Brisbane

We are seeking a Qualified Trainer and Assessor to Join Centre for Excellence in Rail Training (CERT) based in Salisbury, Queensland. 

About the Role

Are you highly competent and capable, with a passion for ensuring safety and excellence in Queensland's rail operations? CERT is seeking skilled Rail Trainers and Assessors to join their Queensland team. They offer flexible work arrangements, including full-time, casual, or hybrid working opportunities.

This role will report to the Training Manager and collaborates closely with their Queensland Team.

Key Objectives:

  • Design and deliver dynamic training, assessments, and support focused on Rail Safety, ensuring relevance and engagement.
  • Build strong connections with learners, fostering an environment that encourages growth, satisfaction, and effective learning.
  • Lead interactive, learner-centred sessions that adapt to diverse needs, offering valuable feedback to help individuals reach their goals while tracking progress and competency.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices, continuously exploring innovative approaches to improve training effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the team, contribute ideas in meetings, and actively support the department’s overall success.

About You

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Proven ability to deliver high-impact learning solutions that align with client needs and industry compliance standards.
  • In-depth expertise in Safe Working Training Specifications and Protection Officer Training.
  • QR Qualified to Delivery SARC and WET. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Queensland Rail's Network Rules and Procedures, ensuring up-to-date and relevant training.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, with a focus on building positive learner relationships.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and administrative skills, ensuring the seamless execution of training and assessment programs.
  • TAE40116 and/or TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Rail Industry related qualifications competencies including, but not limited to; CERT II/II in Rail Infrastructure, CERT V Train Driving, Cert II Shunting.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:

  • Queensland Rail Protection Officer certification.
