As a result of JJ’s Waste continued growth in the Perth metropolitan area over the past 8 years, we are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Leading Hand / HR Driver based at our Bayswater Depot.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Work with our team of waste vehicle operators to effectively supervise daily operational goals as part of the Operations leadership team.

Starting at 4am, you are responsible for the start of day supervision of the driver team, coordinating any unplanned absences, breakdowns and enable resourcing as needed. 

The role is a mix of hands-on and office-based with consistent engagement of our driving teams to achieve the desired outcomes on safety, productivity, process, compliance mentoring and training. 

You will be working with a safe and reliable fleet, serviced and maintained by our on-site workshop team.

We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist daily with operations start of day commencement (4am start time)
• Regular driving – Front Lift (OHL) and Rear Lift 
• Be a mentor, help with training of our driver team.
• Comply with laws, regulations and requirements including OH&S 
• Achieve and uphold a high level of customer service within the business
• Establish and manage relations with customers, team members and suppliers 
• Strive for improvement in Operations whilst upholding a high level of safety at all times

ABOUT YOU

• HR license and waste industry driving experience are essential
• Existing experience in front lift and / or rear lift - preferable
• Experience with working in a team environment, effective communication skills 
• You are results orientated 
• Motivate staff effectively and consistently – maintain positive work culture
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite 
• Able to successfully satisfy a pre-employment medical and W.A commercial fitness to drive
