The Opportunity:


We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Truck Sales Manager to lead the new and used truck sales team at Kenworth DAF Melbourne.


Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for driving profitable sales growth across Kenworth and DAF products, leading the sales team, building strong customer relationships and delivering market share, gross margin, inventory and customer experience outcomes.


This is an exciting opportunity for a proven sales leader with strong heavy vehicle, commercial vehicle or transport industry experience to represent two of Australia’s most respected truck brands.


 


Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead, coach and develop the new and used truck sales team.

  • Deliver sales orders, deliveries, market share and department contribution targets.

  • Drive customer retention, conquest sales, territory coverage and key account growth.

  • Build strong relationships with fleet operators, owner-drivers, body builders, finance partners and key customers.

  • Manage pricing, trade valuations, inventory, aged stock, floorplan exposure and commercial risk.

  • Maintain strong CRM discipline, sales forecasts, pipeline reviews, quote follow-up and lost sales reporting.

  • Work closely with service, parts, finance, leasing, administration and pre-delivery teams to support order-to-delivery outcomes.

  • Represent Kenworth and DAF professionally in the market.

  • Ensure sales activity complies with PACCAR/dealership policies, WHS requirements, Australian Consumer Law and trade practices obligations.


 


About You:


You will be a motivated sales leader who understands the importance of customer relationships, commercial discipline and team performance. You will bring energy, professionalism and a strong focus on delivering results through people.


You will ideally have:



  • Proven sales leadership experience in heavy vehicles, commercial vehicles, capital equipment or transport solutions.

  • A strong track record in achieving sales, gross margin and commercial targets.

  • Experience managing sales teams, fleet customers, key accounts and dealership sales processes.

  • Strong knowledge of the Australian road transport industry.

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation and customer relationship management skills.

  • Strong commercial acumen across pricing, inventory, budgets and gross margin.

  • High levels of organisation, CRM discipline and reporting accuracy.

  • A current driver licence; heavy vehicle licence or strong technical understanding would be advantageous.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications preferred, though equivalent industry experience will be considered.
