Key responsibilities?

In this role, you'll underwrite Warranty & Indemnity insurance for M&A transactions across the Asia Pacific region, working closely with brokers, clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes on complex deals. Your core responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assess and select target business risks to insure
  • Prepare insurance quotes for M&A transactions
  • Review sale and purchase agreements, with a focus on seller warranties and indemnities
  • Review due diligence reports and supporting materials
  • Prepare underwriting questions and review responses
  • Draft, negotiate and finalise policy wording and coverage
  • Work as part of a connected Asia Pacific underwriting team, while also managing transactions independently
  • Deliver a high level of service and certainty of execution to brokers and clients
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with W&I brokers to support deal appointments
  • Contribute to marketing, business development and the growth of the Liberty GTS brand
  • Provide technical training and guidance to junior team members
  • Help improve products, processes and overall ways of working

About you

You'll bring a strong legal or M&A background, along with the skills and confidence to work in a fast-paced transactional environment. Ideally, you will have:

  • Sound decision-making and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong legal drafting skills
  • Broad understanding of legal concepts
  • Solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Business, financial and risk awareness/understanding
  • Previous legal experience in corporate M&A or insurance from a well-regarded law firm
  • A legal degree, preferably from a common law or APAC jurisdiction
  • Previous experience in warranty and indemnity insurance, M&A, or insurance/risk management will be highly regarded
