The Opportunity
The team is seeking a skilled User Experience Designer to enhance the overall functionality and usability of a particular platform.
All candidates applying for this position must be an Australian Citizen and have a current ability to obtain Security Clearance.
Key responsibilities include: - Collaborating with user researchers and a Product Manager to deeply understand user needs, behaviours, and challenges.
- Working in tandem with the product manager to grasp requirements and business limitations, while aligning design solutions with strategic goals.
- Work with other designers to conceptualise and prototype solutions that effectively address core user needs and issues, fostering a collaborative design environment. Iterating designs based on stakeholder feedback and usability testing so that they are ready for development.
- Ensuring all designs are accessible and adhere to user-centered design principles and accessibility standards.
To be successful in this role, you will need:- User-Centered Design Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate a strong ability to create and iterate intuitive and engaging user experiences that meet the needs and expectations of users, all while complying with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
- Collaborative teamwork: It's crucial for candidates to have the ability to work effectively within a team environment, engaging with user researchers, developers, a product manager, and stakeholders to align design solutions with business objectives.
- Technical and Adaptive Design Proficiency: A deep understanding of design tools is essential (for example Figma and Miro), along with the flexibility to produce designs at varying fidelity levels, tailored to the specific requirements of the project's context and objectives.
