Underwriter – Strata

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and commercially minded Underwriter to join Vero’s Specialty Lines Strata team.

In this role, you'll manage and underwrite a portfolio of Strata business, including new business, renewals, and policy adjustments, while supporting profitable portfolio growth. Working closely with brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders, you'll build strong relationships, deliver tailored insurance solutions, and contribute to the successful execution of Vero’s Specialty Lines Strata strategy.

What you'll be doing

As an Underwriter, you will play a key role in supporting the growth and success of Vero’s Specialty Lines Strata portfolio. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and underwriting a portfolio of Strata business, including new and existing customers.

• Assessing risks and making sound underwriting decisions in line with business objectives and risk appetite.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and key stakeholders.

• Delivering responsive, solution-focused service and support to customers and intermediaries.

• Collaborating with internal teams to achieve positive customer and business outcomes.

• Contributing to portfolio growth, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll bring

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in Strata underwriting, with Commercial Strata underwriting experience highly regarded.

• Strong technical underwriting capability with the ability to assess risk and make sound commercial decisions.

• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong broker and stakeholder relationships.

• Excellent negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a commercially focused mindset.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy and service.

• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across multiple business functions.

• Knowledge of insurance market trends, underwriting principles, and risk management practices.
