Veterinary Nurse – Full-Time Fixed-Term

Indooroopilly Veterinary Clinic and Sherwood Veterinary Practice are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a full-time, fixed-term basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and capable veterinary nurse who enjoys working in a busy clinical environment, values high standards of patient care, and wants to be part of a supportive and collaborative team.

The role will be primarily based at Indooroopilly Veterinary Clinic, with the opportunity to work at our Sherwood Veterinary Practice as required.

About the role

As a Veterinary Nurse, you will play an important role in supporting our veterinarians and providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality nursing care to hospitalised and surgical patients
• Assisting veterinarians with consultations, procedures and treatments
• Anaesthetic monitoring and peri-operative patient care
• Surgical preparation, patient recovery and monitoring
• Performing routine nursing procedures and administering medications
• Collecting and processing laboratory samples
• Maintaining accurate patient records
• Client communication and education
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene, infection control and clinical care
• Cleaning, restocking and maintaining equipment and clinical areas
• Supporting the wider veterinary team to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification
• Has 4 years experience working in a veterinary nursing role
• Is confident with surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring
• Has excellent animal handling and patient-care skills
• Communicates confidently and professionally with clients and colleagues
• Is organised, reliable and able to prioritise effectively in a busy environment
• Demonstrates initiative and enjoys working as part of a team
• Has a genuine passion for animal welfare and high-quality veterinary care
• Is willing and able to work across both Indooroopilly and Sherwood when required
