Veterinary Medical Oncology Residency - ARH Brisbane

ARH Brisbane, a specialist and emergency hospital at Sinnamon Park in Brisbane's west, opened eight years ago and has grown steadily since. Our purpose-designed, state of the art hospital offers services in medical and surgical oncology, small animal surgery, internal medicine, radiology, anaesthesia, critical care, neurology, dermatology, behavioural medicine and rehabilitation as well as an after-hours emergency service.

Facilities include a dedicated chemotherapy suite with fume hood, separate oncology ward, in-house diagnostic laboratory, CT and MRI scanners, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, as well as access to PET/CT and stereotactic radiation therapy.

The oncology team comprises two registered specialists in veterinary oncology, a registered specialist surgeon solely focused on oncology, third year medical oncology resident, medical oncology intern, surgical and rotating interns. Our wider team is supported by our dedicated oncology technicians and nurses, emergency department, experienced hospital nurses and customer care services.

About the Residency:

Animal Referral Hospital in Brisbane, is offering an oncology residency position starting in March 2026. This is a full-time 3-year residency training program with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, allowing the successful candidate to gain accreditation for a Fellowship in Veterinary Oncology.

Requirements:

Candidates must be eligible for veterinary registration in QLD, hold a current radiation licence, and have excellent communication skills and work ethic as well as a strong knowledge base on which to build.

• Achieved ANZCVS Membership in Small Animal Medicine
