Wait Staff

The Mitre Tavern Steakhouse and Grill Restaurant located in the heart of Melbourne CBD is looking for experienced Wait staff with the potential to become a Supervisor.

Requirements/Responsibilities of the role:

• Involvement in creating a welcoming and inviting space for our customers 
• To be a team player; supporting your co-workers and management as we move about our daily tasks and through the sequence of service
• Knowledge of and ability to serve beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and the use of our coffee machine
• Liaise with the kitchen when appropriate, and to also run food for both your own and other co-workers’ tables
• Assisting in the running of a function, learning, understanding and utilizing our protocols for such an event
• Assisting with the closing of the restaurant in the evening, resetting tables, cleaning the bar, etc.
• Assisting with the opening of the restaurant in the morning

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality 
• Supervisor experience in similar role
• Willingness to learn new skills and to be able to adapt to new situations
• Knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer essential
• Friendly disposition and passion for the industry
• An individual with high professional standards
• Knowledge of steak and cuts of meat is preferred, as well as a rudimentary understanding or experience with Western based cuisine
