About the role


The Ward Clerk is responsible for the delivery of consumer focused administrative support, ensuring equity of access throughout the patient’s journey on the ward and to assist the multidisciplinary team by providing efficient and effective clerical support to achieve desired outcomes. 


 


Key Responsibilities



  • Provide high-quality clerical, administrative, reception, and ward clerk services in line with organisational policies and confidentiality requirements

  • Deliver professional and patient-focused customer service, including managing enquiries, appointments, and supporting patient flow

  • Coordinate accurate and timely patient admissions, discharges, and medical records management to meet legal and organisational standards

  • Support efficient ward operations through prioritisation of tasks, general administrative duties, and effective use of IT systems

  • Contribute to a safe, collaborative team environment, including participation in communication, improvement initiatives, and compliance with policies and procedures


 


What we’re looking for



  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn specialised systems

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage tasks efficiently

  • Professional, confidential, and courteous approach in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
