Warehouse Supervisor - Professional Development Opportunities

The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.

This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney. 
  
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint an experienced Warehouse Supervisor.

Summary:

As a Warehouse Superintendent / Supervisor on the SSTOM project, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the project's materials and logistics management. You will be responsible for overseeing the warehouse operations, inventory control, and managing a team of warehouse personnel. Knowledge of SAP is essential to effectively manage inventory and streamline warehouse processes.
  
Key Responsibilities:

1. Warehouse Management: Supervise day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies, adhering to H&S regulations.
2. Inventory Control: Implement and maintain robust inventory control practices, including cycle counting, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate records in SAP.
3. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure they perform their duties effectively.
4. Material Handling: Oversee the safe handling and storage of materials, including hazardous and specialized items, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
5. SAP Integration: Utilize SAP software for managing inventory, procurement, and logistics. Ensure accurate data entry, reporting, and analysis within the SAP system.
6. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control procedures to maintain the integrity of materials and prevent damages during handling and storage.
7. Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to maintain accurate records, manage deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies.
8. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving reports, inventory reports, and SAP records.
9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and relevant railway industry regulations.
10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiency, and implement changes as needed.
11. Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to project management on warehouse activities, including inventory levels, stockouts, and any issues that may impact project timelines.

Requirement:

• Worked in a Warehouse, if in construction would be a bonus, as a Manager / Superintendent / Supervisor for a minimum of 10 years.
• Experience in Working in a corporate would be advantageous.
• Deep understanding and knowledge of warehouse and logistic procedures and processes as well as correlated documentation. demonstrable. 
• Demonstrable knowledge of SAP ERP of minimum and recent 3 years demonstrable
• Demonstrable knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience of Managing and planning a team of minimum 10 people of multi-cultural background.
• Management and planning of Forklifts and Trucks.
• Bonus if in possession of First Aid and Emergency response certificates, possibly still valid and updated.
• Understanding of Warehouse and Logistics Analytics.

  
Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business and Administration, Warehousing, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
2. Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager / Superintendent / Supervisor for a minimum of 10 years or similar role on large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the railway industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of SAP software and its applications for inventory management and logistics, demonstrable.
4. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
5. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and Critical Analytics.
6. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in Warehousing and Logistics.
7. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various project stakeholders at all levels.
8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation handling.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Knowledge of railway industry materials and equipment is a plus.
