Contract - Website Content Lead Your new companyHays is supporting a prominent NSW council as it expands its digital capability.
Your new roleAs the Website Content Lead, you will take ownership of maintaining and enhancing the organisation's primary digital platforms to ensure they deliver a seamless and accessible experience for the community. Your work will span content oversight, technical administration, and user-focused improvements across the organisation's website.You will coordinate content updates, manage governance processes, and ensure all digital information is accurate, compliant, and aligned with brand and legislative requirements. The role involves building and optimising web pages, improving navigation and usability, monitoring performance metrics, and identifying opportunities to elevate online engagement.You will also provide technical support for website operations, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with internal stakeholders including developers, designers, and content contributors. The position may also involve supporting future digital upgrades and enhancements, such as AI-driven tools, online transactions, or chat-based services. Project coordination, stakeholder management, and adherence to organisational policies will be key components of your day-to-day responsibilities.
What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, or a related discipline
• Strong background in website administration, content strategy, and digital optimisation
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript, along with experience using content management systems
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues and maintain smooth website operations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders across the organisation
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
• Ability to negotiate outcomes and work effectively with diverse stakeholder groups
• Familiarity with public sector environments or large enterprise systems
• Experience working with CRM platforms or ERP technologies
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive working relationships
