Perth Workplace Safety Consultants is a locally owned and operated health and safety consulting and auditing firm based in Perth with offices in Karratha and Newman. We are currently recruiting a Health & Safety Consultant to join our team.
This role is a new position and reports to the director of the company. This is a permanent full-time role and is a great opportunity for individuals looking to build a career under the guidance and mentorship of skilled professionals across a range of disciplines.
Qualifications & experience
- Tertiary qualifications within a Safety related field will be considered favourably.
- Relevant experience in safety-critical industries as a health and safety professional (3+ years).
- A strong understanding of ISO standards and, WHS legislation
- Experience with facilitating iCam investigations
- Excellent client-engagement skills, whether you’re dealing with frontline workers or execs
- The ability to work on projects with deadlines independently with the support of a fantastic team
- First-class interpersonal and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
Tasks & responsibilities
- Developing documentation to meet client and legislative requirements (such as policies, procedures, safety plans, safe work method statement and project documentation)
- Assisting in the development, implementation, and training in Management Systems to meet quality, environmental and health & safety standards
- Providing support to clients in preparing, achieving, and maintaining accreditation with regulatory bodies (such as ISO, OFSC)
- Acting as a WHS Advisor on client sites (responsibilities may include, conducting prestart meetings, toolbox talks, task observations, site safety audits, maintaining compliance of health and safety systems, records management, assist in implementing and improving safe work practices)
- Risk management including hazard recognition, critical control management and risk profiling.
- Provide support to consultants / senior consultants in achieving client and project deliverables as required
- Supporting the business in overflow tasks and project deliverables where required
