Work Experience and Industry Placement

Opportunities available 

Geelong Regional Library Corporation

Geelong Regional Library Corporation welcomes applications for short, unpaid, work-based learning placements from secondary students who are interested in working within libraries, and tertiary students studying in a field relevant to the work of our libraries.

Applications will be considered if you are a Secondary Student (aged 15 or over) or a Tertiary Student. The placement must be authorised by your educational institution. Applications are reviewed and assessed on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on the needs and capacity of the team and availability of suitable work. Please note your preferred location may not always be able to facilitate work experience or industry placement.

How to apply:

Work Experience Students:

• Include a cover letter outlining why you are interested in work experience at Geelong Regional Library Corporation


• A copy of your resume


• Any information provided by your Secondary School regarding this work experience placement


• Each year we offer up to 7 work-experience placements to secondary school students in years 10 and 11.


• GRLC can only support work experience for children aged 15 and above.
  

Industry Placements:

• Include a cover letter outlining why you are interested in an industry placement at Geelong Regional Library Corporation


• A copy of your resume


• Documentation from your tertiary institution advising the placement is a requirement of your course.


• Tertiary placement form


• Current Working With Children Check


• Each year we offer up to 3 industry placements to tertiary students.
