Retail Operations is seeking a Workforce Planning Manager to provide analytical workforce insights, operate and execute the schedule reconciliation control in line with COO governance standards
This role sits within the Workforce Planning stream and is accountable for workforce planning and analytics, alongside the end-to-end ownership of schedule reconciliation and workforce data controls to protect pay accuracy, regulatory compliance and operational integrity across Retail Operations.
The role
As a Workforce Planning Manager, you will operate at the intersection of analytics, workforce governance and operational decision-making. You will design, maintain and continuously improve workforce models, while ensuring workforce data across planning system and HR systems is accurate, controlled and auditable.
You will act as a control owner and subject-matter expert for Schedule Reconciliation, working closely with Operations leaders, Finance and Risk to identify issues, manage remediation and escalate risks in line with COO governance frameworks.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
Design, build and maintain workforce data models and automated reporting pipelines to support executive planning and governance.
Operate and validate workforce FTE reporting, including weekly/monthly snapshot validation and stakeholder query support.
Execute the Schedule Reconciliation control covering schedules, leave and additional hours/overtime, reconciling HR scheduling records in Workday against workforce planning systems (e.g. MyDay/Verint).
Review reconciliation outputs, investigate exceptions/anomalies, apply structured manual controls (e.g., exclusions where required), and track remediation actions to closure
Partner with COO leaders, Risk and Audit to ensure workforce data integrity, pay accuracy, compliance with Enterprise Agreements and audit readiness.
Continuously improve workforce models, reconciliation processes and data quality through automation, standardisation and analytical uplift.
We are interested in hearing from people who:
Have experience operating or supporting controls, reconciliations or governance processes.
Have hands-on experience using R, Python and SQL to analyse and model large, complex datasets.
Are technically strong in data validation, exception handling, and root-cause analysis.
Have experience with workforce management systems (e.g. Verint WFM), or equivalent operational analytics platforms.
Are comfortable working in regulated environments with high expectations around documentation, auditability and control integrity.
Can translate technical findings into clear, practical recommendations for non-technical stakeholders, including senior leaders.
Hold relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in analytics, statistics, mathematics or workforce planning.
