About the opportunity

The new Workplace Compliance team, in the broader Workplace Relations and Compliance unit, is responsible for providing high-quality technical advice, related to the University’s Enterprise Agreement, relevant workplace legislation and University policies (with a particular emphasis on payment and work allocation of staff).  The team maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders and works with both professional and academic staff across the University to drive the prevention, early intervention and resolution of workplace compliance matters. Key priorities include the implementation and support of strategic compliance initiatives, proactive compliance monitoring and continuous improvement to ensure the University meets its compliance obligations.

The Workplace Compliance Advisor plays a key role in strengthening the University’s compliance culture by providing expert advice on the interpretation and application of the Enterprise Agreement, legislation and University policies. Working with a high degree of autonomy, the role leads complex investigations, supports the development of strategic compliance initiatives, and delivers evidence‑based recommendations that inform decision‑making across the University. With strong stakeholder relationships at its core, the position ensures consistent, compliant practices and contributes to capability building across faculties and professional units.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • advise on Enterprise Agreement, legislation and policy compliance

  • lead complex investigations and provide clear findings and recommendations

  • improve and support workplace compliance frameworks and processes

  • analyse compliance data and deliver insights to leaders

  • build strong relationships across HR, faculties and schools

  • support capability uplift across workplace compliance teams.

About you

  • strong understanding of employment legislation, Enterprise Agreements, and workplace compliance

  • excellent communicator with strong written, verbal and stakeholder‑engagement skills

  • experienced in conducting investigations and preparing clear, evidence‑based reports

  • skilled in analysing compliance data, identifying risks, and making informed recommendations

  • able to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement, and manage complex matters with discretion

  • collaborative team member who supports capability uplift and builds trusted relationships across the University.
