Job Description - Workshop Fitter - Hydrualics - close to Perth Airport

Our client is a large global employer who are a leader in their field. They offer excellent training and opportunities to progress, including into leadership positions. They're renowned for putting their people first and being an employer of choice. 

Currently they are looking to recruit a workshop based Hydraulic Fitter on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to join a top employer who can offer support to further your qualifications and provide exposure to large fixed and mobile hydraulic equipment. 

Your key duties will include:

  • Perform fitting and machining tasks as required for maintenance and repair work on hydraulic components
  • Overhaul and rebuild piston, vane, and gear pumps and motors to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and ARC processes for fabrication and repair of hydraulic equipment.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild mobile and industrial valves to maintain system integrity and efficiency.
  • Overhaul hydraulic cylinders to ensure proper functioning and extend their service life.
  • Assemble and commission hydraulic power units according to specifications and industry standards.
  • Interpret hydraulic schematics to diagnose issues and execute maintenance and repair tasks accurately.

If you have previous related experience in hydraulic maintenance, a Certificate III/trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar. A certificate IV in Fluidpower would be an advantage, but support to obtain this can be offered.
