Workshop Supervisor, USS Grade 8 - Goulburn

In this role:

You'll be responsible for providing a multi-disciplinary service capability in a specialist trade/engineering discipline. The role is also responsible for the local management of workshop staff and ensuring all matters relating to Fleet’s mechanical and fabrication services are achieved per time, quality and project scope requirements. 

The role will also work to ensure the TfNSW fleet asset and the designated workshop areas are maintained per legislative requirements.


The Workshop Supervisor role will be responsible for:

• Leading and developing workshop teams to achieve performance, safety, quality and cost targets, while identifying skill gaps and providing coaching, training and support.

• Managing the Workshop Management System by scheduling work, allocating resources, monitoring procurement and repairs, and maintaining accurate fleet maintenance records and financial data.

• Delivering hands-on technical guidance and training by troubleshooting complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and fabrication issues and supporting tradespeople, apprentices and administrative staff.

• Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders by coordinating mechanical services, communicating effectively and managing client expectations within tight timeframes.

• Driving workshop efficiency and compliance by preparing repair estimates, monitoring budgets and performance, and ensuring adherence to WHS, environmental and industry regulatory requirements.


This is an ongoing full-time role located at Goulburn.

TfNSW take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously therefore to be eligible for this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a reasonable distance from your identified Headquarters/Depot.

About you

You are a highly motivated Workshop Supervisor with supervisory and leadership experience within a small-medium team environment.

You have extensive experience in scheduling repair, maintenance and servicing of earthmoving plant, trucks and small equipment including the qualifications to become an Authorised Inspection Station Examiner/Proprietor.
 
You hold a relevant Trade qualification in a field related to earthmoving plant and equipment repairs and possess a MVRIC licence as a Motor Mechanic.
 
You are an effective team manager who is customer focused, demonstrates drive and commitment, has effective communication, negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Your ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, workshop manuals and hydraulic system diagrams will be imperative for this position.
