This role is responsible for managing, overseeing and conducting investigations into workplace conduct across Opal. This role ensures all cases are handled professionally, consistently, and in accordance with organisational policies, legal obligations, and principles of procedural fairness.
The role will also provide oversight of the case management system, ensuring accurate administration, analysis, and reporting of all workplace conduct matters, supporting proactive risk management and continuous improvement across the organisation.
You will contribute to the success of Opal by:
Conduct timely and thorough investigations into complex workplace conduct matters, including bullying, harassment, discrimination,
Gather and assess evidence, interview relevant parties, and prepare investigation reports.
Manage cases end-to-end, ensuring confidentiality, procedural fairness, and adherence to Opal's policies and legal frameworks.
Provide guidance to leaders and HR Team on appropriate responses to workplace conduct and performance concerns and advise on appropriate approaches to investigations, including procedural fairness, confidentiality, and risk mitigation.
Monitor case progress and ensure resolution in line with procedural fairness and standards.
Maintain oversight of all workplace conduct and performance cases within the case management system in line with case management protocols.
Partner closely with HR Business Partners to provide visibility of ongoing cases, ensuring alignment on approach, risk management, and communication with leaders.

Specifically, for this role, we expect you will have;
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Law, or a related field is desirable.
Demonstrated experience managing or advising on employee conduct, performance, and non-work-related medical matters.
Strong understanding of employment law, procedural fairness, and investigation principles.
Excellent written communication and documentation skills, including case summaries, letters, and performance plans.
High level of discretion, professionalism, and judgment when managing sensitive matters
Ability to manage competing priorities and high-volume casework.
Exposure to Fair Work Commission processes or similar external forums will be highly regarded
Ability to travel to sites to assist in active investigations.
