Job Description - YourLiebherrCareer: OEM Crane Technician

Can you work independently and carry out major repairs on Cranes and accurately diagnose faults? Are you looking to join an OEM known for high performance machinery? Liebherr Maritime Cargo and Construction Division has an opportunity for experienced and motivated technicians to be based in our Redcliffe Workshop in Perth and working Offshore when required.


These positions involve regular travel to offshore customer sites, with assignments typically lasting up to two weeks at a time. Due to the demand-driven nature of the business and customer requirements, these roles do not operate on a fixed roster.


When not attending offshore assignments, employees work a standard 38-hour week. Offshore deployments generally consist of 12-hour days over a 14-day period, with overtime rates applicable, providing strong earning potential.


As workload and travel requirements can vary based on customer demand, flexibility and a willingness to travel at short notice are essential for success in this role.


Key Responsibilities







































Provide diagnostic, maintenance and component replacement services; including but not limited to:



  • Inspect plant and equipment for conformity with established standards

  • Request required spare parts

  • Operate workshop equipment including mobile lifting equipment

  • Diagnose faults, repair, maintain and overhaul mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components

  • Diagnose and rectify minor electrical faults

  • Repair damaged or faulty parts by machining & welding or fabricating new parts

  • Lubricate plant and equipment

  • Running adjustments to mechanical equipment



Active involvement in the continuous improvement of the Product Support process



Maintain effective relationships with customers



Maintain a clean and safe work environment



Accurate completion of documentation including timesheets, maintenance requests and any customer/site specific documentation required



Provide on-the-job training as required



Personal (i.e. individual’s) health and safety performance and behaviour and that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others



Compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Policy and Procedures. 



Alerting the organisation of potential or known problems that affect the quality of LAS products and services



Initiate recommendations for improvement of the organisation’s policies and processes



Other duties as directed



 


About you


Essential


Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical) Diesel Fitter, Mobile Plant Technology or Automotive Electrical Technology


Able to work in remote locations and under adverse conditions


Desirable


Liebherr Crawler Crane & Foundation Equipment or Maritime Cranes experience


High Risk Licenses; LF, DG, EWP


Working at Heights certificate
