The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) was officially formed in 1960 and has grown steadily from being a sole aeromedical service to having a professional and dedicated team who deliver a holistic healthcare service across Tasmania.
We work in partnership with general practitioners, allied health professionals, and local service providers to deliver physical and mental health programs, as well as an award-winning outreach dental program. Our vision is to improve the health outcomes for all Tasmanians with a specific focus on remote and rural areas.
We are one of six RFDS operating sections (Central Operations, QLD section, Southeastern section, Victorian section, Western Operations, and Tasmania section), which make up RFDS Australia. We are Australia’s Most Reputable Charity (Reptrak Charity Survey 2021) and Australia’s Most Trusted Charity (Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Survey 2021).
About the role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for experienced Youth Mental Health Worker to join our mental health team. The position is full time and reports directly to the Team Leader - Mental Health (Adult & Youth).
The position is based in the Break O Day (or) Dorset Municipality. The role covers both areas.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering evidence-based psychological interventions.
Duties
Working arrangements will include a flexible, hybrid work model which includes travelling to various areas.

With a sense of professional purpose, you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and will have the ability to operate effectively in a remote environment, contributing positively to the operations and working relationships of the team.
Travel
This role will require travel to rural communities and may include some additional regional work where required. You may be required to work across multiple regions to meet growth needs or programs and service delivery.
