Our Campus Support team at our GWS campus are currently looking for a part-time (2days/week) Youth Oversight to join the team as a maternity cover for the period of 5 months. This role will be responsible for overseeing the youth ministry ensuring health and growth, ensuring young people are personally cared for and effectively connected into the soul of Hillsong Church to be developed and grown as leaders.
Other aspects of this role include:
Creative Direction & Leadership
Strategically plan and implement events and programs to reach youth with the Christian message, incl. programs, events, meetings & outreaches.
Create an atmosphere in youth and church services which is welcoming, vibrant and expectant.
Build and grow the number, membership and attendance of the youth and young adults as well as volunteer and leadership teams.
Ensure that all activities and interactions between staff/volunteers and youth are morally appropriate & in line with Safe Church standards.
Build, practice and educate people in effective communication methods.
Practical & Pastoral Support
Care for the wellbeing of the team leaders and visit/support them.
Be a point of contact for youth enquiries & conduct pastoral phone calls.
Liaise with Pastoral Care, CityCare and other welfare agencies to provide specialised assistance to those in need.
Praying for and responding to needs identified.
Facilitate support including for pre-marriage, relationship, trauma, grievance, hospital visitation, funeral and home visitation.
Administration & Support
Report promptly on any incidents or Safety issues in collaboration with Safe Church & Pastoral Care.
Compile weekly pastoral reports relating to people under your care.
Engage in regular meetings and updates with Pastoral Care & Safe Church.
Ideally, the successful candidate will bring:
Experience in leading, caring for and pastoring people is essential.
Tertiary qualifications in areas of Theology or Christian Ministry are desirable.
Minimum 2 years key volunteer leadership role.
Proven track record of team building + health in previous placement / role.
Ability to lead and develop volunteers
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Passionate and holistic approach to people leadership and development.
Pastoral counselling ability + willingness.
