Your Role as a Youth Support Officer

The Youth Support Officer will assist in the delivery of services and activities to the community and in particular to young people aged 12-17 years covering all Gold Coast Hubs. This will include the development and facilitation of structured school holiday activity programs for young people.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the development and facilitation of structured activities and workshops, in particular throughout the school holiday periods.

• Supporting and assisting the community to access Gold Coast Youth Hubs as a community and supervise as required.

• Providing administrative and other support to senior team members,

• Engaging and sustaining effective and professional relationships with the young people accessing the programs.

• Cooperating, liaising and negotiating with key stakeholders and youth service providers in relation to access and use of the Youth hub.

What We’re Looking For

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Services or related field (or working towards) and /or extensive experience working in the Community Sector.

• Experience in program service delivery to young people.

• Ability to function both as part of a team and autonomously with minimal supervision.

• Willingness to commute to our Youth Hubs across the Gold Coast and to work during Queensland school holidays.

Essential Requirements

• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)

• Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.

• Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
