We encourage applications from qualified candidates of all ages, cultural backgrounds, abilities, genders and sexual orientations and are happy to adjust our recruitment processes, even in ways we may not have thought of before.  Please reach out to us about any adjustments or support you may require.

About the role:
The purpose of the Compliance Analyst role within Momentum Energy’s compliance team is to support Momentum Energy’s leadership team, managers, and employees to understand and meet their regulatory compliance obligations. This is achieved through the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Momentum Energy’s compliance framework.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide pragmatic, fit for purpose, and risk-based regulatory compliance advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Perform internal assurance activities, report findings, seek management responses, and monitor management actions.
  • Facilitate the compliance incident management process and support incident owners with the investigation and remediation of compliance incidents.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver internal compliance training.
  • Review and signoff internal and external material (work instructions, customer communications, website content etc.) to ensure that compliance with regulatory obligations is met.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate external compliance reporting to regulators and government departments.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Compliance Manager and General Counsel/GM of Retail Governance.

What you’ll bring:

  • Significant experience in the energy industry or another highly regulated industry.
  • Previous experience in similar compliance, assurance, audit, risk, legal and/or other related roles.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (including presentational skills).
  • Influencing and collaboration skills with demonstrated capacity to manage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to understand and interpret energy and non-energy compliance instruments being Acts, regulations, codes, rules, schemes, guidelines etc.
  • Ability to translate complex compliance requirements into succinct and easy to understand advice for internal stakeholders and project team members.
  • Strong understanding of International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 37301 – Compliance Management Systems.
  • Attention to detail and strong investigative, problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to plan and schedule priorities, manage strict deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.

What's in it for you?

You'll work in an incredibly fun and rewarding business that genuinely values its people and customers.

We are super proud of where we work, our workplace and work culture. We pride ourselves on balancing work and home life and offer a truly flexible work environment, a competitive remuneration package, and the opportunity to play a role in Australia’s renewable energy transformation.

Interested but not sure if you tick enough boxes? At Momentum, we believe in the power of unique backgrounds and skillsets. And really, box-ticking is overrated. So even if you feel you don’t meet all the requirements listed, we strongly encourage you to apply.
