Job Description - Finance Officer

About H.A.G Import Corpn. (Australia) Pty Ltd

H.A.G Import, the leading distributor in the Australian homewares market requires a Full Time Finance Officer to join their Australian family owned company.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Officer will be supporting the finance team with a range of activities including:

  • Processing and maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Processing invoices, expense reports, and other payment requests from vendors, suppliers, agents and employees (e.g. Staff reimbursements).
  • Preparing and processing payments to vendors and suppliers via check, electronic funds transfer (EFT), wire transfer, or other payment methods.
  • Maintaining accurate vendor records and following up with vendors regarding payment inquiries, discrepancies, or issues as needed.
  • Assisting in managing of debtor’s accounts including banking, reconciliation, credit checking, maintaining customer records etc.
  • Providing support to the finance team as needed.

Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping or a related field, but not essential.

Skills

  • High level communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role and/or organisation highly regarded

• Previous experience in retailing and wholesaling of imported goods preferred, not essential

• Experience with contemporary business systems including the MS Office suite and Microsoft Business Central Dynamics 365 is required. Experience with ZiNet desirable
