The Opportunity This is an opportunity for a detailed orientated Financial Accountant to join the Finance and Strategy Group, helping the team move forward in a period of transformation. Working with Managers who come from strong technical accounting backgrounds, you will have ample opportunity for professional growth and accelerated learning. The long-term strategy is to continually move towards an enabling environment where manual processes are streamlined, and data is used to drive smart business decisions as well as implementing a new corporate services delivery model which has resulted in a wide range of opportunities.


The Role Key responsibilities include:

• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and reconciliations
• Support the maintenance of the fixed asset register, and processing of asset accounting transactions
• Support period close and consolidation activities
• Support management of all financial policies, procedures and work instructions
• Manage retail Customer transaction exception handling and perform due diligence checks
• Support the collation of tax reports and other outputs required for taxation management
• Support the provision of technical accounting advice to the broader finance team and the provision of CapEx/OpEx determinations
• Ensure adequate financial controls are in place
• Support the preparation of the annual financial reports and involvement in the external financial audit processes
• Review asset revaluation and capitalisation of costs
• Support the business in other accounting areas, such as the creation of journals, provisions, asset accounting and accruals

You will be a commercially focused Accountant with a strong technical grounding, ideally with experience in large commercial organisations or a mid-tier/Big4 firm. Alternatively, you could also be an external financial statements auditor looking to make the transition to the other side of the desk. A degree in Accounting is essential, with significant progress toward or completion of CA/CPA. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities are crucial for success in this role, as you'll engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.


Salary / Rate The salary band starts at $112,116 + 15% Super.
