SENIOR COMPLIANCE MANAGER| PERSONAL INJURY DIVISION | SYDNEY OR MELBOURNE

You'll be responsible for:

  • Establishing strong relationships with internal stakeholders and increasing awareness of regulatory and compliance obligations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor providing ongoing communication and advice to Risk Owners/Divisional Management on compliance matters and the development of processes in line with the Board approved risk appetite and Allianz Risk Management Framework.
  • Contribute to the strengthening of governance and the compliance framework.
  • Lead a team of Compliance specialists in support of the personal injury lines of business
  • Provide advice on the implementation and promotion of corporate compliance and policies, liaising closely with the Second Line of Defence on all divisional-specific compliance matters.
  • Ensure operational compliance plans and assessment activities are kept up-to-date and adhered to.
  • Lead and develop business solutions for incoming regulatory changes.
  • Guide management in developing action plans to address breaches.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Preferred).
  • Significant leadership experience in risk management, compliance or internal audit role in a complex, matrixed financial services (corporate) organisation
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of design and operating effectiveness of controls.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing the level of risk and in developing and executing plans to mitigate risk.
  • Demonstrated experience in process and management control design combined with the expert ability to understand operational and compliance risks inherent or emerging in a business area.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders to establish strong professional relationships and influence outcomes.
  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity and provide pragmatic commercial solutions to meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
  • Proven understanding of the laws, legislation, regulations and prudential standards which may affect an insurer.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence, positively influencing risk behaviours throughout AAL
