About the Role
Due to significant growth our client is now seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Business Manager to oversee relationships with key retail partners, including Coles, Woolworths and Aldi. The Retail Business Manager will play a critical role in driving sales growth, enhancing brand visibility, and maximizing market share within the retail channel.



Responsibilities:

  1. Retail Partner Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, including Coles, Woolworths, and Aldi. Serve as the primary point of contact for retail accounts, maximising opportunities across branded and private label, ensuring alignment with growth objectives.
  2. Sales and Performance Analysis: Working in partnership with the Category and Manager teams to analyse sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth within the retail channel. Develop strategic plans and initiatives to optimize sales performance, drive product distribution, and achieve revenue targets.
  3. Promotional Planning and Execution: Collaborate with retail partners to develop promotional strategies and establish long term JV partnership, including product launches, seasonal campaigns, and promotional events. Coordinate promotional activities, including in-store displays, advertising materials, and marketing initiatives, to maximize visibility and drive sales.
  4. Market Intelligence and Insights: Stay abreast of market trends, consumer preferences, and industry developments within the retail sector. Utilize market intelligence and consumer insights to inform decision-making, product development, and strategic planning.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, operations, and finance, to align retail strategies with overall business objectives. Foster cross-functional collaboration to drive cohesive and integrated approaches to retail channel management.
  6. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with retail partners to optimize profitability and ensure mutually beneficial agreements. Review and analyse contractual terms to mitigate risks and uphold compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Background & Experience



Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, International Business, Business or Marketing, preferable.
  • Proven experience in retail sales, account management, or business development within the FMCG or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising principles, and category management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and consumer insights.
  • Ability to build business cases and influence both internally and externally.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive retail strategies.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
