What We Are Looking For About the Team This position will be a key member of the Electronics Solutions team located in Edinburgh, SA. The team provides Software Engineering for the design and build systems that can manage large quantities of imagery, and apply deep learning through convolutional neural networks and other ML models to augment imagery analysis. About The Role Under the direction of the Technical Lead responsible for the system design, implementation and testing of software systems and modules as part of an engineering project team. The general and generic duties of the Senior Software Engineer include, but are not limited to:

• Undertake software system design and development activities and software unit integration testing;
• Providing technical leadership, assistance and mentoring to team members;
• Reviewing of other team members work to ensure accuracy and compliance with completion criteria;
• Provide system design and schedule advice in support of proposal generation;
• Facilitate collaboration with RDA staff and clients;
• Maintain strict confidentiality;
• Comply with RDA policies and improvements;
• Contribute to business improvement/quality programs and enterprise risk management activities; and
• Ensure your conduct is professional, reputable and in accordance with the philosophy and direction of RDA.

• Relevant degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience;
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in development of software systems and leading software development;
• Extensive knowledge of software environments such as C++, Python, Visual studio development environment, Scripting ( eg: bash );
• Experience with multithreaded software design and implementation;
• Experience developing applications under Linux OS and API’s;
• Experience with configuration management and defect tracking tools; and
• Eligibility and willingness to meet Australian Department of Defence security clearance requirements.
