The Royal Leichhardt is a family owned and operated business.

W. Short Hospitality owns and operates The Royal Leichhardt and The Australian Heritage Hotel, located in The Rocks.

The Job

We are currently seeking an experienced Venue Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least a few years of management experience across pubs, bars or restaurants and will join the team to assist the GM and Operations Manager in the day-to-day operations of the venue. We are looking for someone who loves hospitality, drives exceptional team culture, delivers personable customer service with high attention to detail and has an understanding of financial accountability.

Your role is more than a job, you will be the heartbeat of a vibrant, locals driven, Inner West pub.

Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing day-to-day operations, staff management and seamless service coordination across all areas of the hotel.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for:

• The smooth running of the day-to-day operations including bar, gaming, TAB, functions, dining, events and retail

• Assisting in the on-shift training and development of staff

• Ensuring all service standards are being met across the venue

• Active involvement in team and management meetings on a weekly basis

• Open & Closing of the venue and ensuring all security and compliance protocols are being adhered to

The Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have the capacity to work independently as well as in a team environment.

You will have exceptional time management, strong communication and be a resourceful leader.

Gaming and TAB experience is essential, as well as exceptional cash handling skills, experience working with CRT & Global, and a valid RSA and RSG competency card (RGO preferable as well).

You will need to have flexibility with rostered hours - the venue trades until 4am 6 nights of the week.

Ideally you will have prior restaurant experience or a passion for restaurant style customer service that can add value in strengthening our business standards.
