We are recruiting for a business development manager to focus on growing our list of automotive clients.
You will be a highly motivated, hungry and disciplined person that has experience in the automotive industry to focus on acquiring new clients for our design consultancy.
This is an individual contributor role tasked with identifying opportunities, such as full car / transport design projects for our Gomotiv studio OR auto aftermarket industrial design projects for our Outerspace Design studio.
On offer is a competitive compensation package and flexible working from our studio located in Abbotsford, although this role may require travel for client engagement.
Responsibilities
- Identify new opportunities and generate leads within the automotive industry
- Qualifying prospects based on commercial suitability
- Deliver on sales metrics and targets by building a strong pipeline of automotive design projects
- Management of sales pipeline tracking within our CRM
- Support with market analysis and customer research
What will you bring?
- A deep understanding of the automotive industry
- Prior experience across industrial design, as well as, how design consultancies operate, and the challenges confronting this space
- A solid understanding of how sales opportunities can be realised and can ensure this knowledge is represented in our sales approach.
- Extensive networks and relationships across the automotive / transport industry
- An ability to develop new client engagement plans and pursuit plans for major opportunities.
Skills / Experience / Qualification Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in business development, ideally at a design consultancy
- Degree-qualified in business, marketing, industrial design, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of industrial product development processes and frameworks.
- Strong ability to influence decision makers and convert opportunities into sales.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development campaigns.
- Familiarity and previous experience using CRM tools, such as Hubspot or Salesforce, and project management tools such as Asana or Monday.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
