Casual Housie Assistant
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is a not-for-profit organization providing world class aeromedical, search and rescue services to those in need 24/7. The Service has more than 40 years of proud history, and operates from three bases in NSW (Tamworth, Belmont, Lismore) in addition to a Head Office and deep level maintenance facility based in Broadmeadow NSW.
A key component of our fundraising is our Helicopter Housie program which was established in 1989. Every week over 1,600 people play Cash Housie (Bingo) at one of 34 sessions in Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Mid-North Coast, Far North Coast, Central Coast and New England Northwest.
We are currently seeking applications for the role of Casual Housie Assistant in the Port Macquarie Region. In this role you can make a difference by helping us provide a fun and friendly environment for our customers. Housie is an ideal social activity for people of all ages to keep their minds sharp, win great cash prizes and support a worthwhile local charity.
Reporting to the Housie Manager, this role is responsible for conducting engaging and efficient Housie sessions in a variety of Registered Clubs across the region.
The key accountabilities of the role include:
• Interacting with Housie Patrons to ensure a positive Helicopter Housie experience.
• Selling Housie books and electronic playing devices.
• Experience with handling conflict to resolve issues
• Conducting Housie games in a safe and professional manner.
• Completing sales reconciliations and session worksheets.
This role requires liaison with Registered Clubs staff and Housie Patrons and therefore it is essential that the successful candidate is a people person with the ability to communicate with a diversity of people. Confidence using a microphone is important.
Additional skills and experience required to perform this role include:
• Strong customer service and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work as part of a fast-paced team.
• Excellent cash handling skills, good with numbers and good with technology.
This role is a casual position, our current sessions are:
There will be availability for further hours as we have 6 sessions per week from Monday – Saturday, so flexibility to work others days would be an desirable.
