Accountant

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Park Proxi Gibraltar Bowral is looking for a highly experienced Accountant to become a crucial component of the finance team for the hotel.

Reporting to the General Manager and the Corporate Office team, the Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that a disciplined financial and internal control environment exists throughout the hotel. The Accountant will be required to provide high quality, accurate and punctual accounting support for the hotel to help maintain efficient hotel operations and achieve business goals. As Accountant for Park Proxi Gibraltar Bowral, you will need a keen eye for detail and a forward-thinking mindset to ensure compliance in all financial matters by maintaining all process and controls and taking corrective action where necessary.

THE ROLE:

As Accountant for the Park Proxi Gibraltar Bowral, you will be responsible for:

• preparation & review of all monthly/yearly financial reporting & ending procedures;
• reviewing & developing systems, policies & processes to improve financial/accounting operations;
• preparation of forecasts & annual budgets in accordance with guidelines;
• managing & maintaining cashflow reporting, purchase orders, AP & AR ledgers for the hotel;
• ensuring compliance with all reporting, insurance, statutory duties, payroll & taxation requirements;
• auditing of internal control procedures & systems & assisting in preparation & management of external audits;
• building & maintaining stakeholder relationships;
• reviewing & evaluating contracts & legal agreements, statistical & management reports & financial performance & advising/reporting to management accordingly; and
• helping to lead & manage the finance team.

Full-Time Salary: $85,000 - $95,000

ABOUT YOU:

To be considered for the Accountant position at Park Proxi Gibraltar Bowral, you will need to have:

• appropriate tertiary qualifications in accounting/finance;
• at least 3+ years' experience as an in-house accountant;
• CA/CPA registration (preferred);
• superior computing skills with proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs incl. Excel;
• great attention to detail;
• analytical skills;
• efficient problem-solving abilities;
• exceptional time management & organisational skills;
• the ability to manage different tasks, meet deadlines & work well under pressure;
• excellent communication skills;
• leadership & management skills;
• superior reporting skills;

• experience working in the hospitality sector & in a similar luxury hotel environment.
