Singapore Flying College is looking for talented, passionate and motivated individuals to fill in a vacancy for the post of Aviation Ground Theory Instructor (CASA) to manage and conduct PPL/CPL/ATPL ground subjects for trainee pilots.
The Ground Theory Instructor oversees daily operations, manages the administration of course-related tasks, delivers course materials, assesses student performance, and supervises students enrolled in theory courses. This role requires active involvement in ongoing course content reviews, the development and implementation of teaching methods, and student assessment strategies. Additionally, the instructor collaborates with related departments to optimize training resources while ensuring a superior customer experience.
The position reports to Chief Ground Instructor (CGI).
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and deliver CASA PPL/CPL/ATPL lectures, tutorials, e-learning, and consultation sessions as per SFC’s approved training program in an effective manner
- Assess the learning of students including maintaining accurate records of student class attendance, student progress and student assessment in line with SFC policy
- Preparation of Coursework, presentations and e-learning content
- Technical and Ground School query system administration
- Supervising and correcting examinations
- Monitor the ground school schedule and alignment to scheduled flight lessons.
- Coordinate with students and flight instructors to ensure timely performance and completion of syllabus lessons.
- Support management team with student performance reporting & monitoring.
- Provide motivational and mentoring support for students
- Perform additional duties and participate in projects as assigned by the CGI or General Manager
Preferred Experience:
- Experience delivering Pilot Ground Theory Instruction within the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) or Defence Aviation Safety Authority regulatory requirements for Aircrew operations
- Knowledge of the aviation and flight training industry and educational principles
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching including effective presentation and facilitation skills, and in the use of flexible teaching methods.
- Preferred skills and experience in competency-based assessment including developing flight training learning resources, working within Learning Management Systems, and blended learning environments.
- Experienced in both face-to-face and remote online teaching, with a strong emphasis on effectively utilizing online teaching tools.
Qualifications:
Minimum Commercial Pilot Licence (Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating and ATPL CASA exam credits Preferred), ATC or engineering/ground ops or military equivalent.
