Chef, Hungry Buddha. Belconnen, Canberra ACT. Chefs/Cooks (Hospitality & Tourism). Full time. $70,000 – $75,000 per year. Experienced Chef required for Lumbini Trading PTY LTD trading as The Hungry Buddha located in Belconnen ACT 2616. Working hours Fulltime (38 hours) per week. A passion for cooking and respect for work ethics are essential to this fast-paced environment. Requirements: Responsibility for all operational aspects of the kitchen. Preparing and cooking food. Planning menu items. Estimate food and labour costs and ordering food supplies. Ensure quality and presentation of all foods. Training and developing kitchen staff. Discuss food preparation with management, dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff. Receiving & storing food stocks, kitchen supplies and equipment. Advising on cooking procedures and demonstrating techniques. Discussing food preparation issues with senior management. Maintaining quality, preparation, and presentation of dishes quality. Implementing systems & procedures. Implement, explain and enforcing hygiene regulations & secure workplace. Select and train staff. Freeze and preserve foods. Qualifications and Experience: Must have AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management. Must have experience worked as Chef for more than 2 years. Any successful applicant must be a team player, able to work under pressure & maintain a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen.
