Job Description - Commercial advisor

Role: Commercial Pricing Advisor/Analyst

Role Type: 6 months temporary full time role with potential for extension

Salary: DCS Clerk Grade 7/8, base salary starting at $106,025 - $117,363 plus superannuation and leave loading

Location: Hybrid – Remote plus some office days (Haymarket, Sydney)

About Us:

The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is a service provider, regulator and central agency of government. DCS is undertaking an ambitious digital transformation of government services, underpinned by its Digital Government Strategy.

Government Technology Platforms (GTP) enables NSW government through the provision of core and common digital capability including cross sector leadership and delivery of ICT infrastructure and digital services aligned to the NSW Government ICT Strategy; Beyond Digital.

About the Role:

  • Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Commercial Pricing, this role manages the commercial pricing operations that enable business units to deliver services that are fully cost recovered from various government agencies.
  • Design, build and evaluate the financial modelling, including scenario analysis, to support Government Technology Platforms whole of government products and services.
  • Manage the application and maintenance of the commercial pricing model and rate cards for GTP products, ensuring is consistency and accuracy across the organisation.
  • Producing data modelling and accurate costing information to support product strategies, business cases and budget submissions.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in activity-based cost modelling and analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of cost, revenue, and finance processes.
  • High proficiency in Excel, SAP and Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Above all, you have a proven track record of delivering to tight deadlines and having a strong desire to succeed.

With a high attention to detail and passion for customer service, you will consistently deliver value to a range of stakeholders across the business. Your commitment to continuous improvement and ability to prioritise, work under pressure and clear communication and collaboration skills will be critical to your success.
