Full-Time Corrosion Technician
Perth Glass Polish Pty Ltd exist to prevent glass from getting damaged and to restore that which is already damaged. Glass is usually damaged by scratching, calcium build-up and corrosion which all affect the beauty of the glass. This has on many occasions forced property owners to replace the damaged glass in order to maintain the beauty of the building. As a means of mitigating the impact of replacement which has not only got far reaching impact in people’s pockets but also affecting our environment, Perth Glass Polish Pty Ltd was established.
We are the glass repair specialists in Perth and WA at large who can remove all Scratches/Graffiti, Calcium build-ups & Corrosion on all types of glass, restoring it to its original beauty and helping our clients save on replacement costs.
Our company is looking for a motivated and experienced full-time Corrosion Technician who will be responsible for monitoring and testing surfaces to prevent and manage corrosion. Conducting regular inspections, identify areas of concern and make recommendations for repair or maintenance. Working with other technicians to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to mitigate corrosion damage and extend the life of glass.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Conduct regular inspections of surfaces to identify areas of corrosion
· Test surfaces using a variety of methods to determine the level and extent of corrosion
· Make recommendations for repair or replacement of corroded surfaces or equipment
· Assist in the implementation of corrosion control strategies and preventative measures
· Collect and maintain accurate data on corrosion rates and patterns
· Collaborate with manager and other technicians to develop and improve corrosion control programs
· Perform routine maintenance on equipment used in corrosion monitoring and testing
· Participate in training programs to stay current on advancements in corrosion control technology and techniques
· Wear personal protective equipment including respirators, gloves and safety glasses
Qualifications and Experience
An Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma with 2 years of relevant full-time experience, or 3 years full-time relevant experience in lieu of Qualifications.
Skills and Personal Attributes
· Knowledge of corrosion causes, mechanisms, and prevention techniques
· Experience with a variety of corrosion monitoring and testing methods and equipment
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent attention to detail
· Strong communication and collaboration skills
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
· Must have a valid driver’s licence as this is mostly a field related job
Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time
· Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
