Job Description - Head of Research

Head of Research About the Company At AEIOU Foundation for Children with Autism, we have a simple yet sincere goal: to provide early intervention that enables children with autism to live their best lives. It’s how we do it that sets us apart from everybody else. AEIOU is a profit-for-purpose organisation, established in 2005 to deliver high-quality therapy and care. Our family-centred program supports children with autism to develop essential life skills, independence, and confidence. AEIOU’s Research & Assessment team integrates research projects and clinical assessments of children with our therapy and care service to help us better understand the needs and strengths of the children and families we support. Our database of over 1,000 records is Australia’s largest data source on children with autism under six years of age. The Position As part of the Executive Leadership Team, the Head of Research performs a key role in setting and reviewing AEIOU’s research strategy by providing direction, leadership and advice to other ELT members, the CEO and Board. Responsible for the delivery of gold-standard clinical assessments to autistic children, you will use the data collected to drive research, understand and evaluate AEIOU’s program, and contribute to setting the strategic priorities of the AEIOU Foundation. You will provide a high level of support and supervision to your team of research and clinical assessment professionals, including mentoring and coaching of emerging talent, and foster and facilitate relationships with other collaborators including national research centres, key academics and industry researchers. About you: Hold a Doctorate of Philosophy, or other postgraduate degree in psychology, special education or a related discipline Have experience or high-level knowledge of autism Have experience in conducting quantitative research at all stages of the research process Have knowledge of clinical outcome data as related to behavioural and intellectual assessments of young children Have the ability to lead and mentor a team of professionals Registration as a psychologist with AHPRA is highly regarded Have your COVID-19 Vaccination certificate (double-dosed) or an approved Government Exemption Have a current Paid Blue Card (or able to obtain before commencement) NDIS Worker Screening Check required if your Blue Card was applied for or renewed post 1 February 2021 What we do for you: Permanent, full time position, base salary of $130 000 per annum Salary packaging benefits of up to $15,900 per year which increase your take-home pay 5 weeks annual leave, plus the option to purchase an additional week Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and immediate family Values-based quarterly recognition awards How to Apply Apply for this position today by attaching a brief cover letter and a resume.
