About the role:

In this role you will be responsible for evolving the digital department to execute on Ampol’s strategy by designing, developing, testing and maintaining software as part of a cross functional agile team and providing technical support on software development and engineering best practices.

The Mobile lead developer – Digital will have a key focus on delivering high quality, effective outcomes for both stand-alone initiatives and when contributing to larger complex projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is hoping to gain exposure to different digital initiatives including the development applications for Future Energy, a multi-year strategic initiative as Ampol transitions to support de-carbonisation and electrification of transport.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing and delivering scalable, reliable and efficient mobile app features that meet business objectives and follow engineering best practices
• Ensuring software delivered is of great quality and follows design, security and architectural standards
• Supporting a continuous improvement culture and taking ownership of technical excellence
• Collaborating with other engineers, product owners and stakeholders
• Advanced knowledge of best practices; including but not limited to: Mobile architecture, iOS/Android design guidelines, software development best practices, secure coding practices, and CI/CD methodologies
• Provide production support including triage and resolution of incidents.

 

About you:

You will join a team of professionals who work cohesively and independently as a team to ensure good business objectives are achieved. You are aware of current trends and new technologies in information architecture and design (mobile domain) and through strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.

You will ideally have tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent industry experience specifically working with iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin).

 

Key skills and experience:

• Experience working with iOS (swift) or Android (kotlin)
• Proven experience architecting and designing mobile apps for consumers
• Have shipped multiple consumer facing mobile apps and features
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines, app/play store releases and devops practices
• Knowledge of security best practices in mobile and software development
• Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders and team members
• Experience in requirements gathering, solution design and documentation to an appropriate level
• You have experience, exposure and/or interest in the following:
  • Swift or Kotlin
  • iOS or Android design guidelines
  • Mobile templating, architectural patterns, best practices, and scalability
  • Mobile unit testing libraries
  • iOS/Android libraries and components
  • CI/CD pipelines, app/play store release process
