The School of Materials Science and Engineering is one of the top ranked Materials programs in the Asia-
Pacific regions and strongly positioned in every facet of materials science and engineering. It offers undergraduate programs in Materials Science and Engineering (Honours), as well as a number of combined degree programs with Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Commerce.
The Lecturer (Level B) in the School of Materials Science & Engineering is integral to the successful prosecution of a collaboration with one of our industry partners and the School’s broader research agenda. The Lecturer will work in an interdisciplinary research environment alongside experts in physical metallurgy of high temperature materials, high temperature corrosion, additive manufacturing, and sustainable materials processing to pursue a world-leading materials engineering research program.
The Lecturer will contribute to teaching and the development of lifelong learning offerings and will play a key role in helping to mentor the next generation of leaders in Materials Science & Engineering through research-student supervision and capacity building with industry and the broader community.
A successful Level B candidate will also be considered for the award of a position on the prestigious UNSW Scientia Program.

Scientia academics will be mentored and will also develop the skills required to become mentors and research leaders themselves.
Appointments are made on a Convertible Tenure Track contract. The initial engagement is for 4 years fixed term with the possibility to convert to continuing tenure. The Scientia Program also allows flexibility to take research breaks to do other studies, take an industry engagement or follow other interests. We are also open to part-time appointments.
