About the OPPORTUNITY

As the Practitioner Project Manager , you'll be at the forefront of operations with a hands on approach, working alongside a team of experts to ensure that projects are executed flawlessly. You'll be responsible for overseeing the technical, cost, and schedule goals of each project, ensuring that we're always on track to deliver exceptional results.

As you build your knowledge and expertise around Ship Building and our amazing equipment, you'll have the opportunity to run small to medium size projects, putting your skills to the test and making a real impact on our operations.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop an understanding of the scope and how the scope is represented and integrated into the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB)
  • Become familiar with artefacts such a CWBS, P6 WBS, data dictionaries for the relevant control account areas.
  • Support the CAM improve and maintain schedule health and associated actions.
  • Support the CAM with Earned Value (SPI, CPI variance analysis) and Estimate at Complete (EAC) submissions.
  • Participate in schedule progressing reviews
  • Act as a conduit engaging with the planning & controls team for the control account as required
  • Support the Baseline Change Request (BCR) process as required.
  • Manage critical dependencies ensuring timely delivery of the stated inputs and ensure support is managed across the program including engineering and operations.
  • Support risk and opportunity (R&O) reviews.
  • Support programme reporting requirements as necessary. This could include creation of metrics and analysis of data.
  • Attend meetings and reviews as needed by the programme, CAM and PM.

About YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or similar (desirable, but not essential)   
  • Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain the necessary deliverables
  • Willingness to learn, give everything a go and ask lots of questions to expand your knowledge
  • Capability to identify and solve complex problems, think critically and innovate
  • Current NV1 Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain in addition to eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
