Job Description - Accounts Receivable Officer

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

Accounts Receivable Officer - Casual

We are seeking a seasoned and self-motivated Casual Accounts Receivable Officer to oversee and manage all aspects of our accounts receivable function. This role requires a strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to achieve financial goals. As a senior member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our revenue cycle. Potential to go full time.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including invoicing, billing, and collections.
  • Generate and distribute accurate and timely invoices to customers.
  • Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and follow up appropriately to secure timely collections.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes in coordination with internal teams and customers.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyse accounts receivable aging reports and other financial reports for management review.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on receivable trends and metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate prompt payment and resolve payment issues effectively.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to billing and accounts receivable.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounts receivable processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Implement best practices and controls to optimize cash flow and reduce delinquency.

Qualifications:

  • Credit Management or Accounting qualification

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts receivable or related financial role.
  • Proven track record of managing accounts receivable processes independently.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Proficiency in accounting software SAP preferred and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
