Your new company
Hays legal are partnered with a State Government Department who give back in supporting the Victorian community. The team are growing and developing to assist providing greater support across the State.



Your new role
As a VPS 4/5 level Solicitor and Senior you will support the team with your legal experience working across a diverse areas of practice including construction, infrastructure, procurement and commercial structures including private public partnerships (PPP), market engagement, contract administration, project finance, debt and equity structures, funding agreements with non-profit organisations and taxation.

• Provide authoritative advice on complex legal and policy issues, and provide high level briefings and correspondence.
• Collaborate with departmental colleagues to deliver high quality client focused legal services in relation to complex and sensitive matters.
• Prepare briefs and instruct counsel and contracted solicitors of the State Government Legal Panel in complex and sensitive matters

VPS 6 level will perform all of the above as well and greater support to the wider business and management and mentorship of staff.



What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this position you must have the following:

• Admission & current Practising Cert
• Experience in the following areas of law; construction, infrastructure, procurement and commercial structures, (PPPs), market engagement, contract administration, project finance, debt and equity structures, funding agreements with non-profit organisations and taxations
• Excellent written and general communication skills
• Experienced in providing advice on financing and investment models for delivery of property acquisition, development projects and commercial activities
• (VPS 6) Management experience
