Bartiga is a modern Australian restaurant and wine bar on a leafy corner in the centre of Double Bay. Our menu is inspired by modern Australian cuisine with a contemporary Asian influence.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join us here at the Restaurant.
Duties and responsibilities, includes but not limited to:
- Preparing and cooking the menu.
- Developing the menu according to season and availability.
- Managing the day-to-day functions of a busy kitchen.
- Managing and training junior staff.
- Assisting the Executive Chef with menu development
- Ordering and stock rotation.
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following criteria:
- 2+ years of Sous Chef experience
- Experience in fine dining restaurants as well as catering for functions
- Organised, well presented, professional, with a good eye for detail who strives for excellence and keeps calm under pressure.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A creative, positive, can-do attitude.
- Be reliable and punctual with multi-tasking ability
- Can work closely with Senior Management and other related departments
Additional requirements
- Availability to work varied shifts from early mornings to late evenings, including weekends and Public Holidays as per business demands
