This role takes the lead across the Product Development and Underwriting teams to look at how we deliver within risk appetite, by having the right governance and oversight and processes in place to support our controls. Continuing to look at ways to drive efficiencies and utilise technology to strengthen our governance and controls.

You will ensure a clear and documented approach to Product Development and underwriting in compliance with internal policies and prudential guidance.

This is a 12-month secondment opportunity.

What you’ll do

• Maintain oversight of all governance and control requirements to ensure deadlines are met.
• Use data/insights to understand the effectiveness of process and controls and proactively identify opportunities to improve
• Have a clear understanding of Consumer risk profile, including, obligations & risks and associated controls
• Use an understanding of Industry developments to identify emerging risks to ensure Underwriting and Product governance keeps pace with market developments and changes.
• Work collaboratively within relevant teams to ensure regular engagement and coordinated implementation of activity and changes.
• Work closely with other areas in CCPP, Insurance Risk and CRO as relevant to ensure financial and operational risks are identified and recorded in IRIIS, with appropriate controls against them
• Facilitate Consumer Portfolio’s control testing program, including oversight of relevant controls in other areas such as contact centres and digital

What you’ll bring

• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Business, Finance, Commerce (desired) and/or
• Demonstrated experience within insurance
• Demonstrated knowledge of Consumer Portfolio, Underwriting and Pricing practices/policies
