Graduate Data Engineer

We are looking to add a graduate data engineer to our team of consultants in Melbourne

About the role:

As a Graduate Data Engineer you will be working as part of the Synogize team helping on client projects.

As this role is both functional / technical, you will need to possess skills to understand business problems and convert them into solutions. You will work with clients within different industries with different technology platform, this will require you to curate the customer experience uniquely to cater for their needs.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, clean, and manage data from various sources across the business
• Verify data quality to ensure accurate analysis and reporting.
• Support the development of building and maintaining databases
• Use data warehousing for storing and analysing large amounts of data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose solutions
• Development and implementation of data solution in a scalable/sustainable approach

Skills:

• Understanding of the SQL language and the ability to translate business questions into data queries. Languages such as Python/R is a bonus
• ETL tools like Fivetran, Azure Data Factory or similar a bonus.
• Understanding of Data Warehousing and data pipeline
• Understanding of how data is stored in databases and how it can be used to answer questions.
• Ability to understand database management.
• Ability to understand operating systems such as Apple macOS, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Solaris and UNIX.
• Ability to understand, manage and manipulate complex data
• Strong communication. Ability to articulate complex problems/solution for senior stakeholder to understand
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Requirements gathering.
• Quick learner with attention to detail.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Applied math, Statistics, Physics, or equivalent experience.
• Must have Graduate Visa, Permanent Residency or Citizenship
