Our Internship

Our Australian Energy Advisory practice has an exciting, 10-week Internship, this summer in Sydney, for students passionate about working on the forefront of the energy transition.

Our internship programme will give you a first-hand view of life in an award-wining management consultancy firm. Working on the forefront of the energy industry, you will gain an understanding of what it's like to work in consulting, as well as valuable experience on aspects of the consulting project lifecycle, business analysis and client engagement techniques.
What you will be doing?

During this internship, you will be working at the forefront of the energy sector alongside market specialists with deep industry knowledge where you will be able to develop and broaden your skillset and knowledge of this incredibly exciting sector!

For this internship, we have open positions across two of the teams in our Energy practice:
  • Power Market Fundamentals & Transactions - this team builds deep quantitative insights into how power market fundamentals, such as trends in electricity demand, supply, and technology costs, impact the value of projects and companies in the markets in which we operate. We provide a long-term and independent view of power markets, which is used by a broad range of market participants. The quality and depth of the insight, and our ability to translate our work into client context and challenges means we are a trusted advisor to the players making the biggest impact on the energy transition, and our analysis is used to deploy billions of dollars of capital per year.
  • Energy Strategy & Commercial Advisory - this team are proud to work with the foremost energy companies, policymakers, regulators, investors, developers, and operating globally across the energy supply chain. You will have the opportunity to work with clients driving the energy transition to commercially optimise strategy, operational portfolios, development projects and business models in dynamic market environments.

Requirements
  • You are an Undergraduate Student currently in your penultimate or final year at university with a strong academic background.
  • We are ideally looking for candidates studying an analytical degree in the fields of Maths, Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics or similar
  • You are passionate about playing a role in driving the energy transition!
  • You will have excellent communication and presentation skills and are an effective team player
  • You hold strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You hold a curiosity and developing capability in AI tools, including proactively exploring how they can enhance research, analysis and delivery
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in Sydney, Australia, both now and in the future. Applicants will be asked for proof if invited to an assessment centre. Please note we're unable to sponsor individuals for this opportunity.
Key dates

Assessment Centres: 1/2-day, week commencing 13th July 2026 (could be subject to change)

Internship starts: Monday 30th November 2026

Internship ends: Friday 5th February 2027 (please note our office is closed between 21st December 2026 - 4th January)
