About Allens
Allens is a leading international law firm with a 200-year history of helping clients navigate the moments that shape their future. We work on complex, high-stakes matters across Australia, Asia and beyond, combining deep legal expertise, commercial judgement and strong relationships to help clients make confident decisions. Through our alliance with Linklaters, our clients and our people are connected to an international network spanning 41 offices in 26 countries.
We aspire to be the strategic legal adviser clients want to have by their side in the moments that matter — and a firm where talented people can grow through meaningful work, clear expectations and strong support. Our people bring ambition, curiosity and ownership to their work. In return, we offer real responsibility, coaching, feedback and opportunities to build the judgement, capability and confidence needed for a successful legal career.
How we work matters. We set high standards, support each other to meet them, and work as one team across practices, offices and disciplines. We value people who listen closely, think commercially, use technology and new ideas to improve outcomes, and contribute to an inclusive environment where different perspectives strengthen the work we do.
At Allens, you’ll be encouraged to ask questions, seek feedback, take ownership and keep learning — with the people, tools and support around you to help you shape what’s next for clients, teams and your own career.
Our graduate program
As a Graduate at Allens, you’ll complete two 12-month rotations in different practice areas, giving you broad exposure to the way our teams work with clients and each other. We don’t work in silos, so you won’t be limited to one partner or one practice area. You’ll learn by working with different teams, building technical skills, commercial judgement and confidence through work that carries real consequence and day-to-day feedback.
You’ll be involved in significant domestic and global matters, including complex transactions and advisory work that help shape industries, communities and markets. You’ll also have the opportunity to apply for a client secondment, or an international secondment to London or Asia through our Linklaters alliance.
During the program, you’ll learn from some of Australia’s leading legal minds in an environment where high performance is expected and supported. We’ll help you build your understanding of commercial law, develop the professional skills clients value, and grow the judgement needed to contribute with confidence.
You'll have access to personalised tools, training and development opportunities, including:
You’ll also have opportunities to contribute through pro bono work and community initiatives focused on alleviating disadvantage, advancing reconciliation, improving access to justice and promoting sustainability.
Our benefits package is designed to support your wellbeing, development and contribution inside and outside the firm. It sits alongside a culture where high performance, inclusion, feedback and support work together to help you grow and succeed. Click here to learn more.
