Accountant

Job Description:

Principal Financial, a leading financial services company based in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, is seeking a part-time Accountant to join our team at the Associate level. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in accounting and possess the personality traits of being energetic and independent.

Responsibilities: - Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations - Analyze financial information to provide insights and recommendations to management - Develop and maintain financial databases and spreadsheets - Prepare financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders - Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes - Conduct financial audits and recommend improvements to internal controls - Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and ensure compliance - Collaborate with other departments to support the overall financial health of the company

Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance - CPA or CA certification preferred - Strong attention to detail and analytical skills - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software - Experience with strategic planning and conducting research - Previous experience in a similar role in the financial services industry
